Photography. Creating my own book. Closing one chapter and moving on, searching for new adventures.
Photography, for me, is not just about books or exhibitions. I photograph because that’s simply how I’m wired — I have to. And a book is the cherry on top of my creative work.
I wish for every book I create to spark interest in its subject — whatever that subject may be. And to evoke emotion — whatever emotion that may be. A book is something we can always return to, leaf through in peace and comfort, again and again.

Before a book comes to life, it takes a long time.
A lot of self-doubt — about myself, about the meaning of what I’m creating, about the path I’m on, and the “mystery” of where it will lead me. It is a process of maturation over time — and there is never enough of it.
Going through an endless archive of thousands of images, experiencing passion and joy from discovery, but also moments of tension — wondering whether what I intended truly made it in.
Days and nights at the printing house, sleeping bags included, the scent — and stench — of ink, and endless “debates” with the printer about whether the black is black enough. Then the bindery — another chapter of the process.
And finally, when the book is born, I feel both exhaustion and joy. It’s like having another child — one you want to proudly show to the world.
May my photographs, through books as well, bring you joy.

An incredible story, a testament to its time—the 1990s. Since 2016, when I published the book at my own expense, it has brought joy to thousands of readers. This continued interest is, for me, a confirmation of how powerful an imprint Václav Havel left within us. I believe the book will resonate with you as well and evoke memories of a truly exceptional era.
I began photographing Václav Havel shortly after the revolution, during the 1990s—a time of freedom and countless new beginnings. Havel is an idol to me and living proof that love must prevail over lies and hatred.
