Václav Havel with Ivan Martin Jirous, Trutnov, August 23, 2008

Citizen Havel and citizen Jirous. Two seniors.
Backstage at the Open Air Trutnov rock festival, also known as the Trutnov Woodstock, which Václav Havel visited whenever he spent August at his cottage in Hrádeček. For me, this is a symbolic meeting of two giants, connected by a life lived without freedom. Both prisoners of conscience. Both persecuted by the Communists and their collaborators. Both passed away in the same year, 2011.
The heroes of my life. #theynevergaveup
