Václav Havel and Olga Havlová, Stockholm, 1991
Product detailed description
Dinner with King Carl XVI Gustaf, Stockholm, May 22, 1991
The Havels. The First Couple. Olga and Václav. I never posed them—they didn’t like it, and neither did I. I prefer photographing spontaneous moments rather than arranging scenes. In this case, the President asked me, so it was clear. Václav was wearing a new tailcoat—probably rented, as I vaguely recall. I wouldn’t swear to it. Nevertheless, a beautiful couple. I could no longer accompany them to the formal dinner with the King and the Queen Mother. Protocol can sometimes be a photographer’s “enemy.”
As the author of this photographic work, I always strive—beyond the visual experience—to provide the highest possible technical quality at a top gallery level. I print my photographs on archival papers by the German company Hahnemühle or the French company Canson, which meet the highest standards for preservation and print quality. All materials are archival and pH-neutral.
Printing technique: Giclée / pigment print, Epson Ultrachrome HDR — the most widely used technology preferred by artists, galleries, collectors, and art institutions. Unframed.
If you are interested in this photograph, please contact me to arrange a meeting at my studio, where I can provide additional information and present various mounting and size options.
Archiving and handling note: When displaying photographs, it is recommended to follow standard practices for handling artworks—i.e., the photograph (like a painting or graphic work) should not be exposed to direct sunlight, humidity, high temperatures, or chemically aggressive environments, etc.
The photographs are intended for personal use only, for display in homes or other private spaces. Any other use—such as display in public spaces or institutions, galleries, online publication, or publication in print/media, or any other form of use—is possible only with the author’s written consent.
